When you want to clear some of your land for a project, the first natural step is tree removal, but that is not the only step to take. By working with a tree service company, you can complete extra steps to properly clear out the land and have an open space for whatever project you decide to work on.

See the various ways a tree service company will help clear out the land and provide a space ready to use.

1. Root Removal
The root systems that trees grow underground are intricate and can extend greatly across lawns. Along with cutting down trees, a company can provide services for any roots that protrude, pop-up, and extend across the ground. The root removal is an essential process for creating a flat area to build on.

Once the roots are removed, the lawn may have large holes and divots where the roots were once in place. You may need soil or turf to fill the divots and create flat land. The root removal will also help prevent the regrowth of trees. Some trees could sprout new plants again directly from the root. Elm trees are known for doing this.

2. Shrub and Bush Removal
A large tree is not the only plant a tree service company will help remove. As you clear out land, workers can also remove shrubs, bushes, and other smaller plants from the area. The plants often intertwine with each other and create large clusters of weeds and plant life.

Because of the smaller size, the shrubs and bushes may get pulled out directly from the root so there is nothing extra left behind.

3. Brush Piles
Along with living plants, you may have old trees, Christmas trees, and piles of branches which have accumulated over the years. One of the easiest ways to clear out all of the brush is to hire a tree service company for their wood chipping services.

With a wood chipping service, all of the brush and extra items will be reduced to small fragmented pieces. Once the wood becomes chipped, you have multiple options. The wood services company can keep the wood chips, or you can keep them on your property. Depending on what you use the space for, you could add a layer of wood chips to the land clearing.

Wood chips are also ideal for garden areas. If you have a playground area in the backyard, you could line the ground with the wood chips for a nice play surface.

4. Tree Pruning
As you clear land for your use, you also have to consider the health and safety of the trees still remaining. For example, if you clear out land to install a pool, you do not want a dead branch from a nearby tree to fall into the pool and cause damage.

A tree pruning service will inspect the remaining trees around the land clearing area and complete tasks to keep the trees healthy. Pruning the trees allows the plant to grow, flower, and thrive. The removal of dead wood helps eliminate any dangers and takes excessive weight off the tree.

Tree experts will use visual and physical inspections to find the dead branches and ensure the space around the land clearing remains safe for years to come. After the initial tree pruning, consider annual check-ups, especially as construction progresses on various projects around the cleared out land. The preventative steps will prevent many problems in the future.
